Art
We thrive to offer and expose our children to a wide realm of art materials and techniques to support their creative development and imagination. Through these art experiences we focus on the process of the art piece and what the children learn from it. All art supplies will be developmentally appropriate.
Music
There will be a music center set up in each classroom with a variety of instruments, CDs, scarves, and more. This will support not only children's love for music, but expand their cultural exposure. We provide an opportunity each day for children to participate in music and movement in the classroom.
Movement
All children have lots of opportunities to develop their gross motor skills throughout the day. We typically only sit during meals and quiet time. There are movement opportunities in the classroom, gym, and outdoors. We explore our outdoor environment, when the weather permits, on walks to provide some fresh air and freedom for large body movement.
Language
All classroom will support language development through a large variety of activities, a library center, and exposure to different languages, including but not limited to sign language and Spanish.
Mathematics
Math will be incorporated and modeled in all the classrooms, especially the older rooms. Counting and sorting are common practices used as well as math games, part-part-whole concepts, more or less conversations, and subitizing.
Big Body Play
The play equipment will be appropriate for all ages and ignite children's gross motor skills. They will be able to dance, climb, ride, jump, kick, and more while learning coordination, balance, body and spatial awareness.
